My friend recently had a birthday--and asked for a painting. I wanted to give him an animal, and one that would pay tribute to his ferocious and yet irresistibly cute nature. Beyond that, I wanted to integrate his family crest into the painting. The background is white mixed with interference red, blue and green; the iridescence doesn't photograph well. And yes, the cranky and adorable animal is a Tasmanian devil.
